Please let us know if the new OS update has fixed your wifi connectivity

1. does it work well coming out of sleep?
2. is the range better than on the initial OS?
3. additional comments on changes you have noticed to wifi operation (stability, speed to lock onto signal, etc)

So far I am unable to download the new update. The first time it got to 149.6MB and then timed out. I tried again and unfortunately it would pick up where it left off but started the whole download all over. Again it got to 149.6MB. I let it sit like that for a couple of minutes and then decided to pause it thinking that would at least let me start up from I left off. But pausing it lost the whole download again.

Anyone else having any problems downloading the update? I'm giving up for now and will try again later.

Still no better connection speed than 39 MBs.

wow, we feel your pain! 😉

what do you get with other devices?

I get the same rate with the ipad and other devices, i.e. between 10-20 MB/s.

However, I get poorer latency with the ipad (80-100ms vs 30ms for other apple airport devices). 3.2 and 3.2.1 are the same in this respect. 80-100ms is also reported by 2 windows xp devices I tried, interestingly.

I do get "anecdotally" much better range and network persistence with 3.2.1. However I have made some other changes and this is not truly back to back yet. I need to put some things back how they were before confirming this.

I fluctuate b/w 1 to 3 bars sitting 10 feet above my actiontec router with verizon fios. Last night was average 20 mbs down and 14 up. After update Tonight 9 down and 4 up. I still average .5 mbs down and .3 up with evo tether over 3 g. Performance? No different. I used to drop all the time at work. Will check tomorrow if it is better. Funny thing is that I just accepted it and would repair connection as habit has taught me with my MS hardware. Never thought that it was not expected.

Horrible. Something like powerguru's experience. It has left some of my apps, like Associated Press and Newsy, completely unable to connect. I tried 10 times to get to this forum in Safari on the iPad, and it kept telling me server timed out. But I moved to my laptop and got in instantly. This is very unpleasant -- I guess I'll be heading to the Apple store. (I had similar problems before, but was waiting eagerly for the wifi fix. Bah!)

The couple of comments of users that had no problems and now have problems scare me to death.

I am in the "had no problems" camp and will not download an update to fix a problem that doesn't exist.

I had no WiFi problems and upgraded without concern. I am seeing better WiFi performance with 3.2.1 (download speed ~16 Mbps vs. 12 Mbps). There are no new problems with WiFi, Safari or any other of my applications.

I wouldn't be concerned with a couple of users with problems. It seems there are always such anomalies. The 3.2.1 update also fixes other things besides WiFi.
