Please let us know if the new OS update has fixed your wifi connectivity
1. does it work well coming out of sleep?
2. is the range better than on the initial OS?
3. additional comments on changes you have noticed to wifi operation (stability, speed to lock onto signal, etc)

iPad 16GB WIFI .... Updated has seemingly made my connections worse. 75% of the time it will not connect coming out of sleep. I have to go in turn off the WIFI... turn it back on and reselect my network then it works again. Seriously annoying and regret upgrading.
I didn't have a real problem with wi-fi anywhere I tried to use the iPad before the update, and I still don't. At the same time, the iPad still — after the update — shows fewer wi-fi bars than my iPhone 3G shows in the same locations around the house (e.g., 1 dot where the iPhone gets a dot and an arc). This seems to have no effect on download speeds, which are just the lame ones that Clear provides.
Finally a solution to the wifi problem. Mine is great!!!!
I just wish apple would have communicated more with us. But it's their way and I love their products.
Wifi is working MUCH better after the 3.2.1 update. My wifi used to constantly drop and/or glitch out, but it's been solid as a rock since the update. I am very happy with the update.
I updated because I had frequent WiFi drops. If I was in the "no problems" camp, I would NOT have done it since the update is primarily a bug fix.
The update went cleanly and after 1 hour, I've not experienced WiFi drops. Launching Slingplayer resulted in no initial connection but it worked once I tapped the log-on option in the app.
All is well but I did not have WiFi problems in the beginning. After several weeks, I got the "drop after exactly 1 minute" bug. It was annoying but usually didn't require going into "Settings" to establish a connection. I upgraded my router and that problem disappeared and it worked well for several more weeks. However, intermittent connection drops started up again requiring reconnecting through "Settings".
(Other wireless devices on my network NEVER dropped connections -- just the iPad.)
Therefore I'll wait a few weeks in hopes that iPad WiFi problems are gone for good.
With all the talk of what Apple is doing wrong with the whole iPhone 4 fiasco, there is not much talk in the tech media today of what Apple is doing right. I had the wifi issue with my iPad where it would disconnect exactly 60 seconds after waking from sleep then reconnect two seconds later. I also had very weak reception sitting in my backyard with my router twenty feet away in my house. After the update I'm happy to report everything seems to be fixed. So far I have not had one signal drop off and instead of only showing one bar on the wifi indicator while I'm out back it now shows a steady three bars, sometimes briefly dropping to two. I'm very happy with the results of the update.
I had just gotten some Bluetooth headphones the other day and I was having severe problems with wifi when bt was on. Posted yesterday to this forum about and a couple hours later the update came out. Was having a lot off fluctuating bars also. Now working good with wifi (ipad <-> computer) with 3.2.1 with bt on and the signal is more consistent. Now just got to figure out the problem with my dsl.
I have the 16gb wifi. So far it seems good. A restaurant where last week I didn't see any wifi, now lets me see it and connect, getting two bars. At home, where I was getting one bar or less on my front step (literally 10 feet from the router) I'm now seeing two. Haven't had a disconnect or password request yet, but it's only been used for about 15 minutes.
Here at work, I ran speednet before the update and after. My speeds seem about half, but that might not be related to the update, we'll see.
I had both wifi drops every 5-10 mins, as well as prompting for WEP pw 'often'.
All set now ... Tested in both my desk and recliner! All is well! I loved the iPad during the problem, although it really ****** me off and was very frustrating, and I love it even more now!
Thanks again, Apple for your diligence and support ... And of course for the fix!
My iPad is not showing a good strength of the WiFi signal. Before, I had full bars, anywhere in the house. Now it shows 1- 2 bars... Also, the I have been getting Cannot Display Webpage, then clicking the page again, and finally coming back up!
Also, while downloading apps, It seems to want to pause, or freeze up! Showing the progress bar usually halfway. Then after waiting for 10minutes, the app will finish.
In Tap Tap 3, I cannot pull up the Featured Songs List, at all!!!
It will just continue to load, showing the orange spinning loading circle, and never loads!
Also, in Tap Tap 3, while trying to download a Song, it Freezes up too! Showing the Progress bar 1/4the of the way downloaded, and Failing. Then I would retry it, and went a bit further, about half the way, then it froze up again. I had to do this several times, until it finally downloaded the songs...
YES, I RESET MY NETWORK SETTINGS IN THE GENERAL TAB, AND ALSO RESET MY MODEM & ROUTER, BUT STILL GETTING THIS PROPLEM!
