Safari loading blank pages

This is an iPhone 8 with iOS 13.1.2. Ever since my update to iOS 13, Safari returns a blank page when loading a webpage.

Upon starting Safari, everything is fine. After some length of time browsing websites, eventually the bug will appear. Every webpage I try loading, a blank page will appear. Curiously, I can see the webpage in reading mode. Sometimes, I can see the webpage in the tab switcher. But the actual page is blank. Nothing is wrong with any of these websites, as the pages load properly in other browsers. Also, if I close and reopen Safari, everything will be working again.

Any thoughts? Please no irritating suggestions to hard reset or backup and reinstall. I’m looking for specific ideas or conjectures as to what the culprit is.

SOLVED - I too had this problem on my iPhone XR, iOS 13.1.3 and solved it by setting the Zoom to standard:

Settings - Display & Brightness - Display Zoom - View - Select Standard - Press Set in top right corner

Hope this helps.

All...First post, I don’t normally post on forums but having had this problem and having tried everything listed throughout this thread, I think I have found a solution that works for me and thought I should share it. I was having issues with some specific UK websites and it seems that turning off ‘prevent cross-site tracking’ in Safari has rectified this. My wife had this set to off on her iPhone and could load the websites, but when I put prevent cross site tracking on, the same issues occurred on her phone. I’m not sure if the issue is with Apple or with the the website in terms of not being able to prevent cross tracking. Hopefully this will help & maybe someone with more technical knowledge could shed some further light.

But it doesn’t. Turning off experimental features doesn’t solve the issue for many of us, myself included.

My guess is that it’s a bug in Safari related to too many open tabs and a drain on RAM. The only consistent workaround I’ve found is to close several tabs, close Safari, and then relaunch. To me, that represents a bug.

I don't have a fix per se, but a workaround. First, it seems to happen to me after I've had a tab open a while and navigate through pages, go back, etc. This would suggest that there is probably a memory leak somewhere, but I haven't done any digging on that front.

That said, if I open a link in a background tab (or any NEW tab) it will display properly. To do this on iOS tap and hold on a link, wait for the menu to appear, and then tap on "Open in Background". Once you switch to that tab, everything should be fine, for a while at least. If you have a blank screen, go back a page (it usually still renders properly) and open the problematic page using this procedure.

Hope that helps someone.
