Update Keynote, Numbers & Pages
Appstore gives me error 1004. What should I do?
Unless you have Mojave, or Catalina installed, you do not meet the download requirement for Pages v8.2, Numbers v6.2, or Keynote v9.2.

If you have the .2 releases with Open status in the Mac App Store, and these applications function correctly, then you are good to go, and probably encountered some transient error on the Mac App Store.

I have Mojave installed and it worked nicely, especially Numbers version 6.2 (6520). While I was searching for answers why Catalina does not install despite all technical requirements being met, I noticed in App Store that Pages, Numbers & Keynote show an "update" message. When I tried to update these, it verified my Apple ID correctly but gave the message "An error occurred during purchase. Error 1004 please try again later."
However, trying 'update' again just now, I see the same error message but the status 'update' changes to 'Open" and it seems that the versions are as you showed above. I therefore deduce that I have the lates versions and that there is a 'update' message fault in App Store.

Just to add my experience: Since I have upgraded to Catalina, the App Store now shows that all my Apps are up to date; no confusing status indication any more.
