Huge problems with attempting to download iOS Catalina.
How to shut down my MacBook Pro with a spinning wheel for over 5 hours? Problem started with trying to download OS Catalina. Won’t turn off!

Press and hold down the Power button until the computer shuts down. Wait 30 seconds then try restarting the computer.
FYI: Catalina is macOS, not iOS. The latter is for the iPhone.
