MacBook Pro not charging even after resetting SMC

Hi

i have a late 2011 MacBook Pro 15 inch.

Last night, halfway during charging the charging suddenly stopped. (No light at all in MagSafe connector and MacOS also confirms that the battery is not charging)

I have waited nearly 24 hours, reset the SMC and PRAM and the original cable shows no signs of wear. Both the Mac side and the cable-side of the connector are clean.

Yet, still the machine will not charge.

Any help would be appreciated.

Unplug the charger from the electrical outlet for a minute to reset the charger's internal electronics. Try using another electrical outlet. Also try plugging the charger directly into the wall outlet. If you are using the duck head adapter, check to make sure it is solid and there are no black spots where the duck head blades pivot.

Here is the Apple document on checking the Magsafe charger and port.

If you Option click the battery icon on the menu bar, what is the condition of the battery? Anything except "Normal" or "Good" indicate the battery should be replaced. You can also try running the Apple Hardware Test.

If none of this helps, then you have a hardware issue with either the charger or laptop.
