iPad no longer rings when phone call is incoming after iOS 13 upgrade

Wife’s iPhone is an iPhone 6 that can’t be updated to iOS 13. Her iPad is a 5th gen that has been updated to iOS 13. Before the update her phone would ring, the iPad would also ring, and you could answer the call on either device. Now the iPad behaves exactly as it did before except it doesn’t ring. I’ve looked at all volume settings, FaceTime settings etc, Do Not Disturb is off, and everything looks like it should.

does the iOS version need to be exactly the same on both devices?

No, generally, it shouldn’t be necessary to have the same iOS version on both devices.

On your iPhone verify

Settings > Mobile Data > Calls on Other Devices - is set to ON - and that the associate iPad name is similarly enabled

On your iPad verify

Settings > Facetime > Calls from iPhone - is set to ON

If necessary, restart both the iPhone and the iPad.

Thanks for responding. All of those settings were already set correctly and I rebooted both before posting the issue.

The issue isn’t that the iPad doesn’t receive the calls, it does, it just doesn’t ring. Functionally works - you can receive and make a phone call on the iPad. The only issue is that the ringer doesn’t work. All of the volume settings are up near max.

She did the update to 13.1.3 that she installed last night solved the issue.
