iPad Pro 12.9 2018 Gen 3 Charging Issues

My iPad, which is several months old now, has started to not charge when I plug in the charging cable. I use the original cable and brick for charging. I find that I am able to start a charging cycle if I do a shutdown and restart of the device with the cable plugged in, but this is rather annoying. Is there a permanent fix to this issue, so that when the cable is plugged into the iPad, it begins charging? I have read back on several generations of the iPad, and unfortunately, it seems this has been an issue for a very long time. Is there a fix to this issue? Any response from Apple regarding this issue?

Thank you, jefkursea
