Hi there

Can somebody please tell me how I attach a file into my email after I have written it because all day I have been writing emails but then remembered I need to attach the file first by sending it over from pages or numbers. Is there any way I can attach this to an email after I have written it?

iMac 21.5, Mac OS X (10.6.4)

You can't. You first have to select the file you want to email and then seclet email from the app's menu. Yes, this is different that for computers.

Hi, so it is impossible to attach more than one document, right?

Well that is completely rubbish! Where's the bloody logic in that?? The autumn update better change this!

    Thanks anyway

Popeto: You are correct. Only one attachment unless the app supports multiple attachments, which some do.

With the photo app, you can select more than one photo per email.

Agreed. I know a lot of people that are frustrated with this. You can't attach anything apart from a photo even on iphone.
I doubt Apple will do anything about it.

Let Apple know what you'd like.

this is very annoying, at least let us link our idisk account to attach muliple file to an email already written

    Hi everyone

I too am frustrated that we cannot attach more than one file to an email , but I seriously doubt that Apple overlooked it : they deliberately did , just as they ommited a number of basic functions ! The idea is then to come out with an app to deal with all those basics .... We can moan about it ,complain , suggest.  Etc , but i think perhaps the best way is to buy shares in Apple as they seem to make a fortune treating us like cash cows .....

Or perhaps not as the market cap is already stratospheric ....

For ex , although we can sync our contacts from our mail account , it does not sync groups , so then we are directed to a " free " app  which deals with groups ..... Only to find out that each group can only handle 5 contacts !....and then it can only handle 3 groups ..... Then we are told that there is another app which will allow you to deal fully with  group contacts. ...... But is not free ....

Numerous examples of this kind of basic functionality which some naively believe that Apple overlooked and subsequently dealt with by introducing an app to help us. :  help their cash account more like

I had my iPad for the last 5 days and I am already fed up with the restrictions and the lack of common sense in the iOS. Here is my list so far

    iPad annoyances

1- once in application, you can not go the previous application unless pressing the home button.

2- In the Apps store, when browsing a list of apps and installed an app, going back to the apps list will reset the list to the start. It is particularly annoying when the list is long.

3- no email pop up message. You have to interrupt what you to go to the email app to check.

4- the keyboard has no directions keys e.g left, right, up and down. It is handy when correcting a word.

5- no date on the top ribbon with the time.

6- not able to browse the file system

7- not able to attach files from the email client when starting new mail

I am seriously thinking of returning my iPad if I can not find solutions to the above. What is the problem in allowing access to the storage space, this I can not understand.

I am pulling my hair with trying to do simple tasks

It is clear that you need a computer, not the iPad.  While there may be work-arounds for some of your items, you might be better off taking the iPad back and getting a netbook or MacBook Air.

Before you do, I suggest you follow Red555's advice and send your list to Apple via feedback.

    Thanks Fred,

I have a netbook but the tablet offers greater portability especilly when comuting.

I will send the list to Apple and hope some of the points will be answered by the iOS.

I just a wrote a blog post about this. Basically, you switch to photos, select the photos and copy them. then Paste the photos into your message. The step by step instructions here: how to attach file to the email you are editing.
