Macbook Pro 2017 Shutdown suddenly with non-removal battery. It does only work with SMC RESET

Hello All,

I have a Macbook Pro 2017 15" with TouchBar (late-2017) version.

My MBP is not open properly. It goes to shutdown when Apple Logo appear. (some time It goes to shut down after loading bar filled %70-%80)

I could only start it with SMC Reset (Control+option+shift+...+power button)

I dont know Why but I tested;

  • nvram reset
  • OS reinstall (So I am using Catalina now yes)
  • disk repair (w & w/o recovery mode)
  • AHT - Diagnostic tool (Power Btn+D)

When I check Power Management Logs from system information / Logs Tab.

I saw an error message when i try open mac properly (just pressing power button), "SMC shutdown cause: 0: Battery disconnected".

I investigate to SMC Firmware update because it might be broken but it's not possible latest mac's smc firmware update or reinstall.

Have you disconnected all external devices?

Did you erase the physical drive when you reinstalled macOS?

If so, did you create a new user account without restoring from a backup since restoring or migrating from a backup could be bringing the problem back? If a clean install with no restore or migration has issues, then you have a hardware issue which will need to be checked out by Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider.
