Hi all.
I have just purchased an old a1264 and I’m trying to connect it to my existing network to play music via my old B&O system. I got it from a friend so I know it is in working order. Trouble is I can’t see the a1264 airport express when I click into the utility. I’m trying to do this via my MacBook Pro running the latest software. I know the a1264 is no longer supported. Does anyone have any tips for how to get this done? Thanks in advance.
Yes.. I already asked.. did you do a full reset?? Even better a factory reset.. hold in reset button and then power on still holding in reset wait 10sec.. front LED should flash rapidly. Then release.
Place the Express near the computer if possible or computer near the Express.
Also the airport utility in iOS (until v13) is usually superior to Mac.. did you try it?

Did you reset the Express? That is essential. Place it near the computer.. hold in reset for about 10sec.. wait for it to come up.

You might need to do this manually by ethernet if it does not work via wifi.

Not sure what you mean by "no longer supported", since Apple recently provided a firmware update for the A1264 this past summer, even though the A1264 was officially discontinued in the spring of 2012.

Holding the reset button for longer did the trick on the Mac. Thanks so much and apologies that I missed your post first time around.
I can now listen to my music on my 90’s B&O system for relatively little cost. Thanks again For your help.
Thanks for putting me straight on that point Bob. I thought I had read posts that stated that it is no longer supported.
