WebP support

Now that Microsoft Edge and Firefox support WebP, Safari stands out as the only major browser to not support this format. The web developmet community are clearly aligning on this format due to its impressive quality to file size ratio.

I implore Apple to adopt this technology so we can delive the best possible user experience to customers.

Any specifics that can be shared on release dates for OSX or iOS Safari WebP support would be very welcome.

Apple doesn’t routinely monitor the discussions. These are mostly user to user discussions.

If you want to, you can send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem or a suggestion for change. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem/suggested change solved sooner.
