FCP X and camera generated XML files

Recently got a new Sony camera that generates .mov files along with an XML file. Does/can FCP X use the XML files or can I ignore them?

Changing default export information I let my brother use FCPX when I was away for a week, I have come home to these details stored in the export settings. They come up every time when I export a video, how on earth do I change them? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How to import previusly not imported camera files in FCPX? I was ready to export a video, and it says "This media cannot be shared while referencing media still on the camera" NOTE: The media in the project trying to export does have the camera icon on the media preview I tried to re-import the media, and let it copy, but it made a duplicate of the file, and still would not let me export. I tried exporting in Compressor as well, and it showed the files as "Missing Media", or played the clips with no audio, when there was audio. Anybody have any ideas, this is a great video I need to export and save.

Took a look at the contents of the XML file using TextEdit. The contents were pretty basic; camera name and serial number , frame size (1920x1080) and FPS (60). I trashed them.

Does the Sonny documentation tell you what the XMLs are used for our compatible with? If the don’t work in FCP directly there might be a utility like SendToX that can convert them.
