How do I enable full disk access to my anti-virus program in Catalina?

Avast, my anti-virus program needs full disk access. Their instructions say to go to System Preferences * Privacy and Security * Security * Full Disk Access. In their gif, Full Disk Access is at the bottom of the list below Accessibility. However, in production Catalina, it does not appear there. Is there another way to grant Full Disk Access? I have already submitted this as a bug to Apple.

You don't. Since there are no viruses for Avast, (or any other A/V program) to find, you should completely uninstall Avast per vendor instructions (or application menu item if present).

Users have been posting here for years about (any) A/V products producing false positives, slowing down, or interfering with the operating system's built-in security, or damaging other applications. You don't need that headache.

One useful, free tool (Malwarebytes for Mac) is a product focused solely on adware, and other forms of malware detection and removal. Malware can get onto your Mac from unwise download decisions/installations from sources other than original, trusted developers.
