Text from Apple that cards were removed from Apple Pay

Today I received a text from Apple that cards were removed (deactivated) from my Apple Pay ( Wallet )..

They appear to still be there. How can I check that they are still active with out having to actually try a purchase ?

Also, what would prompt this text ?
