File size of screen recordings in iOS 13

I use screen recordings every day to record a game I play. Since upgrading to iOS 13, the size of the screen recordings is 3 to 4 times bigger than before. Eg. in iOS 12, a 5 min recording was approx 300MB, but a 5 min recording in iOS 13 is now 1.17GB.

I also used to use the edit facility to trim the video and save as a copy. This has now been removed... So if I want to make individual videos of sections from one recording it has to be exported to another app. It's very frustrating, and time consuming.

Has anyone else found this to be the case, and is there any way to change things?

No, I haven't found a solution as far as recording on the iPad goes. Now I end up having to download my videos to my iMac, open them in Quicktime and export them as 720dpi just to get the file size down.
