2007 imac. dvds wont eject when front cover is on??? ?

put a new hard drive in this 2007 imac. Now, the optical drive works when the front cover is off. soon as I put the front cover back on, the dvds wont eject. if I remove the front cover the dvd drive works fine.


they worked fine before the hard drive install. what is causing this??? help!

If you have a 2006 plastic model with the removable white front cover, then it sounds like the front cover is not full closing and the slot is not lining up with the superdrive. If everything went well with the drive upgrade, then you may just need to squeeze around the edges until the front cover locks back into place. If the front cover does not fully lock back in place, then something is not right with the top clips, the foil EM shielding or you have a pinched cable.


If you have a 2007 aluminum model with the glass cover, then it sounds like the superdrive has moved and is not properly lined up with the slot in the case
