Anyone have Wifi Tethering Issues after IOS 13 update?

Recently after updating to IOS 13 update my company laptop will establish connection to my Iphone 7 personal hotspot but I am unable to access the internet through the phone. The company computer also happens to be a Windows 7 laptop. The company computer also has no issues connecting to any other Wifi Hotspot and accessing the internet. Only seems related to the cell phone hotspot.

My personal computer which happens to have Windows 10 has no issues connecting to the same Iphone 7 and seeing the internet. Also this computer can connect to the phone using the USB Tethering method without any issue.

The only issue seems to be my company computer connecting to the Iphone 7.

I've tried factory resetting and reinstalling my backup and that worked for a few connections but its now back to showing the dreaded yellow triangle with an exclamation which indicates there is no internet connection.

I'm stumped.

Hi there, mechanicmav.

I see that you're able to all but a Windows 7 computer to the Personal Hotspot on your iPhone. Every other device connects without a problem, and I'm glad to help.

If Personal Hotspot is not working on your iPhone or iPad (Wi-Fi + Cellular) -- This article provides the information and steps that you need when you can't use Personal Hotspot. Since the issue is happening with only your Windows 7 computer, you might want to check with your employer's IT department for help.

Take care.

I've had the same issue and it has only been with Windows 7 and iOS 13 machines. My resolution goes as follows:

  1. Connect laptop to your mobile hotspot. Don't worry about the no internet message.
  2. Click the windows logo/start on the taskbar
  3. Type “cmd” in search bar and hit enter
  4. In the command prompt window type "ipconfig /release" this will take a few seconds (Ignore any media disconnected errors you may receive.)
  5. Next type “ipconfig /renew”
  6. When the last command finishes verify that you can connect to internet
