Tried Googling this error, no help, anyone know how to help me? please. trying to install my HP 5590 scanner for my new MacBook Pro, "com.apple.imagecapture error 704".
On my HP C5200, I just shut the printer/scanner down and rebooted. Then the scanner work as usual.
VueScan works pretty well with my HP Scanet 300 which gives the same error message since Catalina. It is paid but there's a free trial so you can evaluate if it fixes. On the scanjet pressing any of the "quick scan" buttons (which dont actually do anything usually) seems to wake it up on the few occasions it refuses to talk to VueScan.
