Iphone8 Plus keeps changing telephone number format after IOS13 update ?

Hi my phone is also doing this. I’ve changed all my mobile contacts to +44 which has helped but the only way I can dial a land line number is to turn off dial assist.

with dial assist on the landline numbers don’t dial. Before changing the mobile numbers over they were showing me in Belgium but I’m in the UK

Definitely a virgin problem, I switched back to O2 over a month ago and never had a problem since.

I have the same problem, again with virgin, had the problem a few times on my iPhone 6s switched it off and on again prob sorted. Got a new iphone 8 a couple of weeks ago have this problem every 2 or3 days and switching off and on again doesn't work with it.

when I go into settings- phone- my number my number is displayed as +44---------- when I remove the +44 all the numbers in my contacts go back to the correct format then a couple of days later the phone has added the +44 in front of my number and the problem has reaccured .

I am also having these issues with my iPhone 8 plus. I am with Virgin and am 2 months into a 12 month contract. My contact problem is only with landline numbers, one day the contact name is in the recent call log, then magically a few days later it’s changed to the number!! Yesterday I changed the language & region to English (Canada), the number entry format has changed to our correct Uk format. Just waiting to see how long this lasts🤔

My other issue is every time I make or receive a call, I then get no service. Strangely I can still make calls with no service but any incoming calls go straight to answer phone!! The no service can last up to 5 mins and then the service comes back on its own. This happens in all locations. The dial assist is off and software is iOS 13.2.3.

I’ve phoned Virgin twice and have been told - they are upgrading masts in my area and that’s its an Apple problem. Today I ended up on their community help, found a thread about service issues and a lot of people are complaining that virgin had a batch of mauve sims that are faulty! Any ideas/ help?

Thanks...by adding the country code to a contact, does this prevent the numbers from reformatting?

Any update? I phoned virgin, their suggestions haven’t worked, they said it’s an Apple problem with the latest update. They can’t do anything else and said I need to phone Apple direct with my IMEI number

Have you had any luck in fixing the phone number format changing issue? Im having the same problem using a Virgin Mobile SIM.

Im also noticing that the SIM goes 'out of service' frequently. It then reverts back to a good signal, even when the phone stays in the same place (on my desk). I have never experienced signal issues over the last few years using the same SIM when in the same office location.

Interested to hear this fix, this is happening to me for nearly a month now. What provider are you on? I’m with virgin mobile.

It has been established on the VM Community Forum that this is an issue unique to Virgin Mobile users. After weeks of community members speaking to one another (and without any assistance whatsoever from an uncaring Virgin Service provider), a member, “R101” appears to have found a “fix.” Permanent we hope. I have not had to change Regions for 3 days having followed R101’s instructions.

Here we go:

Settings->Mobile Data->Sim Application->Roaming->Select Mode->Manual->National

You May find Select Mode was set to Automatic, this appears to have been causing the glitch and fooling the phone in to thinking it was in Belgium (where the SIM cards were originally programmed).
