Keyboard Covers Causing Screen Damage (Retina Display)?

I have a 2017 MacBook Pro 13" (no Touch Bar). Recently, I have been reading about people advising against the use of screen protectors, keyboard covers, palm guards, etc. as they can interfere with the clearance of the retina screen when the laptop is closed, creating pressure on the screen. I personally have a keyboard cover, screen protector, palm guards, and a trackpad protector, and I have been debating whether or not I should remove them as I am afraid to cause long term damage to my screen if I have these covers/protectors installed.

Keyboard covers are fine to use....while you're using the Mac. I do find them useful (I have used them and do recommend based on the circumstances) if you use your Mac for work and are constantly drinking coffee or liquids near it (which I recommend caution) to help prevent some damage due to spills. Otherwise remove it when you're done using your Mac. Don't close the screen with the keyboard cover in place. It will cause pressure on the screen.
