Continuity Camera & Universal clipboard not working

I am hoping someone can help.


Since the update to iOS 13.1.3 and OS 10.15, I have been having

issues with connectivity.


One of the issues I am having is with the universal clipboard feature.  It works with ipad to computer

and vice-versa but does not want to work with my iphone XR.  I have a Macbook Air 2015 and have never had issues with it before.  The other issue I have is that the continuity clipboard doesn’t work from iphone either.  I have reset the network settings, and still nothing.


Someone said that it may not work if my phone is connected to my Apple Watch, but I am not sure this to be true as I cannot find anything online.


Can anyone help?

I have it working again, I followed this guide:

Short version:


MacBook (Catalina)

  • switch off wifi
  • Remove all bluetooth devices
  • Turn off bluetooth
  • disable handoff
  • sudo rm /Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist
  • restart


iPhone XR (iOS 13)

  • switch off wifi
  • disable handoff
  • Force restart: vol up, vol down, keep holding side button


Then enable all services again.

Now go to finder and import a new photo/document from you iPhone! :)

I have the same issue, I have tested the following:


Universal clipboard works.


Continuity Camera:

  • Macbook pro 2014 macOS 10.15.1 + iPhone XR iOS13.2.2: doesn't work
  • Macbook pro 2019 macOS 10.14+ iPhone XR iOS13.2.2: doesn't work
  • Macbook pro 2014 macOS 10.15.1 + iPad Pro 2018 iPadOS13: works
  • Macbook pro 2019 macOS 10.14 + iPad Pro 2018 iPadOS13: works


I'm starting to think this is related to the iPhone XR.

Any updates on your situation with the new versions of iOS/macOS?
