Keyboard Accents

Why did my accents on my keyboard randomly stop working? They used to work, but now when I hold down the key they don't.

Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), does the problem occur in Safe Mode?

Safe mode attempts to repair Disks & clears lots of caches, so if Safe Mode works try again in regular boot.

Press and Hold Function for Accents Hi. I have tried all the solutions suggested in previous posts but the Press and Hold function for accents will not work anymore, out of the blue as some other users reported. Worse, if I press and hold any letter, the keyboard stops working altogether. Can someone please help?

Foreign accents - using keyboard My keyboard died. After recharging it no longer will allow me to use foreign accent marks on letters. Apple Support site says to make sure keyboard slider is NOT set to off, and then everything will work fine fine. IT DOES NOT. Whether on a website, in Gmail, Word or Pages, this function DOES NOT WORK. HELP!! Thank you. ps - Apple needs to update it's support replies in this area! (i.e., ".....if this step does not help, try this next."
