imessage pictures send as black boxes

hey, when i send an imessage picture it is a black screen. i see my picture but the receiver only gets a black box. anyone have an idea? Regular messages send pictures.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! I understand when you send a photo via iMessage the other person isn't able to view that picture. I definitely want to make sure you're able to share photos with all your contacts, and I'm happy to help.


To start, does this behavior continues after a restart of your iPhone? Use the steps to restart here: Restart your iPhone


If this does continue after a restart, does it happen with every photo you send with iMessage, or only some? What about with multiple Contacts? Also, does it happen on both Wi-Fi and cellular data? Let us know, and we'll continue working toward a resolution with you.
