Where are my mailboxes?

Where are my mailboxes stored on my iMac?

My Mail program is filled with mailboxes and I would like to move them to storage.

Why can't I find them or move them back and forth as needed?

Special mailboxes are not shown in Mail list but are shown in On my Mac, but only if I click an email and "move to" which is not what I want to do. I just want to return the mailboxes to where the other folders are. Missing Mailboxes in Mail I am on Mac Catalina and can't find my previous mailboxes used to save important messages. Does anyone have a fix for this?

They are only stored in the Mail app. If you looking to archive mail, please review
