GPS data over wifi from iphone to ipad
I have an IPhone X with data plan and ability to use as a wifi hotspot.
if i link an iPAD (that doesn't have internal GPS) to the iPhone via wifi hotspot, will my iPad know where it is based on the iPHONE gps?

Sort of. The WiFi only iPad gets it's location information from the WiFi network it's connected to. When it's connected to your phone's hotspot, it uses the location information for that WiFi network which is derived from the phone's GPS.
