Wifi calling pop up - every few seconds. How to stop it!

I have been following threads about this new and extremely annoying interruption to my work on my Mac on Wifi calling. I tried the fix:

"On your Mac, open FaceTime and choose FaceTime > Preferences > Settings and select Calls From iPhone > Upgrade to Wi-Fi Calling." But Preferences is greyed out. Quitting Facetime, deleting it...none of those work. However, this comment may have some validity...trying it now...(got a second phone and realize that may be the issue!)

"So, just an idea here, but maybe the issue is that there is nothing in the documentation about turning on wi-fi calling for two different iPhones that are using the same iCloud account, since that situation is not even addressed in the Apple support document for Wi-Fi calling. If you carefully read the document, you will see that it is written under the assumption that there is one iPhone(6s in my case) being used to turn on wi-fi calling and add wi-fi calling to other devices, but what happens when you have another iPhone(5s in my case) that you want to only add as a device and not be the main iPhone used for adding wi-fi calling to other devices? This issue that we are having might have something to do with this situation... something not explicitly addressed in the official support document outlining wi-fi calling or even Continuity. I plan on calling Apple Support soon and I'll let you know what I discover."

All other ideas welcomed!

Sue...you are brilliant!! Having 2 different phones use the same iCloud account must be what was causing this problem for me. I activated a new iPhone 11 last night, but didn't turned off wi-fi calling on my old iPhone. The wi-fi calling notification on my Mac Powerbook was driving me crazy at work all day (even though my old phone was at home). I've now turned off wi-fi on my old phone and the issue has been resolved. Thank you!!

I have a similar problem with my iPad Pro (running iOS 13.1.3). Every time it is restarted, there is an annoying popup titled "Wi-Fi Calling" with a message saying "You can use your phone number to make and receive calls directly on this iPad using Wi-FI." The only two options to click are "Not Now", or "Turn On". I am not interested in using wi-fi calling on my iPad, and after wading through all of the settings, still cannot figure out how to prevent this popup message. It would be nice if there was a third option saying "Not Ever".

I have been having the same problem - notification relentlessly appearing on my desktop (MacBook Pro 2102 running Catalina) -since getting a new phone yesterday. No combination of settings and preferences seemed to help, and Apple chat support had no idea.

I just checked the old phone and turned its wifi off. The notification on the desktop seems to be gone. If it keeps going I will check back in here, but the problem seems to have been solved.
