CW App on apple tv 4k error

After every group of commercials plays the app shuts down with an error message - "Error: Playback has stalled out. nil". when i go back to the show I have to re-watch the commercials and often it doesn't start back up where it left off. i'm using the apple tv 4k with the latest software for both the apple tv and the cw app - i've reset the apple tv but nothing i seem to do works. it used to be fine until i updated to the latest tv os.

Then you will need to persist and encourage others to do the same, and cancel if they aren't going to take it seriously.


They are the only ones who can rectify the issue, it is their app/service and their responsibility. It would be the same as when a 3rd party app/service experiences issues on IOS or any other platform.

This happens on a lot of TV streaming apps since the OS upgrade, but the behavior is different on each app. For example, on the AMC app it speeds through about 6 minutes forcing the viewer to rewind - it does not end in an error though. But the timing of the weird behavior is always after the commercials on all the apps. Seems to be so common across different apps it seems more an Apple thing rather than the app makers.

I have not experienced this on any of the apps I used during my testing and of the few reports i've seen they are isolated to a particular app (as in the OP's), yours is only the second one I have seen where it is occurring on more. That being said, it would still be the developers responsibility to fix an issue that came about after an update
