Magnet on 9.7 inch iPad Smart Cover will not stick to iPad

We recently purchased two Smart Covers for a 9.7 inch iPad and neither has a magnet powerful enough to stick to the iPad. The case falls off when you pick it up

IPad cover won’t hold I just bought an iPad cover for my iPad Pro 9.7 in. Bought from the Apple store online. The magnet to clip it to the iPad is weak, and the cover does not hold onto the screen. IPad Air 10th generation Smart Folio Issue I have a brand new iPad Air 10th generation and the iPad Air 10th generation Apple Smart Folio case, both ordered from the website. Unfortunately the Smart Folio case did not work with the iPad. The device slid around on the case, often skewing to one side. The magnetic face cover did not put the iPad Air 10 to sleep. It’s as if the magnets in the case were not strong enough to hold the iPad or turn it off. I spoke with Customer Service but all they offered was a return option. I returned the case but I am disappointed that this is the only case that Apple offers for their newest iPad Air. I am left without any protection for the device. Has anyone had the same experience?

I have an iPad Pro 10.5 running 14.6 and my magnetic cover doesn't work anymore I have a magnetic cover I bought from Apple that used to shut off my iPad when I closed it. At some point in the recent past that stopped working. I have done nothing to the cover or the settings to disable this feature. The only thing that has changed is a couple of iOS updates. I verified that none of the settings that affect this had been changed by the updates. I've read people suggesting that the magnetics in the cover somehow mysteriously became misaligned. Didn't happen. It has to be a bug in the latest iOS version(s).

Hello,

Are you certain you are attaching Smart Cover in the correct orientation? The microfiber side will lay flat onto iPad’s display. Smart Cover also will attach to iPad’s left side.
