Cantalina - programs crash on printing

I have a big issue after installation of Catalina. Each time I try to print (whatever the program), the program crashed instantaneously... It happens by using the shortcut (apple+P) or by clicking in the program menu...

Solution?

Thank ;)

Can you post the crash log? There are Preview crashes in Console->Crash Reports.

There should also be information on why Printers & Scanners isn't opening.

Does it happen from other apps? With other printers?

You can try resetting the print system from Terminal, but you'll need to re-add your printers.

sudo launchctl stop org.cups.cupsd

sudo cp /etc/cups/cupsd.conf.default /etc/cups/cupsd.conf

sudo rm /etc/cups/printers.conf

sudo launchctl start org.cups.cupsd

Hope this helps.

For instance the crash report after trying to print in Thunderbird.

It happens for a lot of apps (thunderbird, Word, Powerpoint, Ichat...) but not for Chrome, not for Calendar. In fact I do not have the time to choose the printer (virtual as pdf or real one), crash occurs just by clicking on print or typing the shortcut (apple+P)

I will try your solution and see...
