The internal speakers on my Airpods seem to have blown... I can only hear any music when the volume is turned all the way up on my phone and even then everyone around me can hear it as well. I have tried unpairing and reconnecting my airpods to my phone, but it made no difference. Is there another way to repair this issue?

It seems as though the sound is not being routed through the AirPods.
Try this:
1) Open the Control Center
2) 3D press (or long press) on the music controls
3) Select the output option (little up-arrow with circles)
4) Select AirPods
If no help, try a full reset: Reset your AirPods
Then try cleaning them: How to clean your AirPods and EarPods
If still no help: AirPods Service and Repair
