apple tv on mac mini

Deciding on purchasing the Apple TV 4K. I'm more inclined to purchase the Mac Mini if it can perform the same functions as the Apple TV 4K. Can the Mac Mini take its place?

The Apple TV is a media set top box that you connect to your TV to stream content from iTunes and other services, you can also download other games and apps from the app store on that platform. If you have a 4K TV along with an adequate connection then you can stream in 4K and HDR 10 or DV, plus Atmos (if you have compatible hardware). It also has features like airplay, screensavers, Siri etc. You can see an overview by using the link below

You can of course purchase a Mac mini or any other computer and connect it to your TV. It can provide some of the same things, but not all, whether it provides a similar experience would be something you would need to decide. You may want to go to your local Apple store and have a look as well.
