Re-enable half star ratings in Music

Amongst the other dreadful things replacing iTunes with Music has done (messing up playlists & view options big time) is Music has removed half-star ratings & the old commands to add that option again no longer work. Does anyone know how to get them back? I need to know for both Mac & Windows 10.

Can no longer view playlist by songs' star rating in OSX Ah, the good old days. I curated all my playlists and Smart playlists in order of star-ratings painstakingly given to favorite songs. The best star rated songs rose to the top, Five star, then Four star, then Three star, and so forth. Songs played in that order. I can click the checkbox in Preferences>General and see the ratings, but back in the Library list view, no longer choose how the playlist shows them in order. That feature appears to be GONE in more recent iTunes releases within Mojave and Catalina. Choosing view options from menu or right click no longer supports view by rating. WHY? Did some programming team decide to strip out a highly-useful feature that supports how seasoned users prefer to curate custom and Smart playlists? I got tier-2 Tech support on the phone and they agreed. Poof. Gone. PLEASE BRING THIS FEATURE BACK. We had it. We loved it. We still need it.

"Play count" and "Last played" columns missing in song view Windows 10, iTunes 12.12.9.4. Both "play count" and "last played" columns missing, as in: i can't even choose those from the list of columns (see screenshot).

how can i restore my iTunes star ratings in Music? I recently upgraded my Mac and OS to Monterey 12.6.3. I had a 2014 iMac with iTunes, and a library of almost 27,000 songs. Every single one of them had a star rating which I used for organizing, searching and filtering. I exported the iTunes library as an .XML file and imported it into Music on my new Mac. Everything transferred over except for the star ratings (star ratings are visible in Music but they all reset to 0 stars). I would really like to have that available since it represents a decade of work. Thanks.

For MUSIC on MAC OS:

-Open Terminal

-Enter command: defaults write com.apple.music allow-half-stars -bool TRUE

It’s the same command for iTunes but replace “com.apple.music” with “com.apple.itunes"
