Can I track a computer that tried to log in to my account?

Hi...I recently received a notice that an unrecognized iMac tried to log in to one of my children's iCloud accounts. A family member recently had their MacBook stolen, and I'm worried that someone is trying to gain access to anyone found through that laptop.

I've changed all of our various passwords, but now I'm wondering if there's a way to track the computer, location or user that tried to log in by the computer name that was provided in the security email that came from Apple. (It had this text: Your Apple ID (_____@_____) was used to sign in to iMessage on an iMac 27" named “_______".)

If there's a chance of tracking the computer used in the hopes it could connect to whomever stole the laptop, I'd love the chance. Is there a way to do it, or someone at Apple who can do it?

Thanks for any help!

There isn't a way to track a computer that attempted to log in unless it has your Apple ID on it and Find My Phone is enabled. There isn't a log of attempted logins. That information isn't tracked.
