It is like the quality of the original file, so it would be like your AAC file. There is no point in up-converting a lower quality file unless it is to put it into a format required by an application you are using. You cannot get back the lost quality. Taking this a step farther, up-converting from a lossy format (AAC, mp3, etc.) to another lossy format will, in fact, result in even more loss since each conversion using a lossy format results in more loss. It's like making a photocopy of a photocopy of an original. In your case, converting to a lossless format would just result in a copy of the AAC file in the original quality of the AAC file, just in a lossless format. It would result in a possibly larger file but no better quality.
