I had this iSight connected and working a while back, but not since the last couple OS updates. Now I can't seem to figure out out to get it to show up. I have a firewire converter in use. I'm using an older Cinema display which has no built in camera.

Touché. My iSight was purchased with a 64bit-ish G5, though. :-) I do keep a version of X.14 running in parallels for 32-bit carpola, but it will not accept any direct firewire input.
Yes, I did decide to move up to Catalina, but I honestly would have waited a bit more, if I had been able to compute a "WARNING: FW iSight = NO GO".

I am not aware of any compatibility issues with iSIght Camera and macOS 10.15. Checkout this 3rd party website as it offers some helpful tips on how to resolve this problem.

The "compatibility issues" are essentially it is that the iSight External firewire camera is not working, is not recogtized by the system at all. There is no sound input. There is no video input. How do I turn it on so I can use it? My firewire cable did not just decide to die, having not been touched for a while.
The first tech told me it would. Until he looked at more information. Then he passed the call to an upper-up who said it was nixed. Too bad that something that did not explicably need to be changed was.... changed.
