OS Catalina, short battery life on MacBook Pro 15" - 2016

its really not good from apple to reduce battery life after catalina upgrade.

how long these tactics will work.

urge apple to provide a patch as soon as possible.

Same problem with my MacBook Air 2015 :(

My battery drain isn't just at night or with "sleep" mode. It's ALL the time. I rue the day I installed Catalina 10.15.1 !!! Come on Apple. Get a FIX out NOW!!!

Tried tip from video, i have 20% more battery than yesterday but like Longhornmary, my drain happens worse while using. Apple needs to respond

Just updated to Catalina 10.15.2 and its still killing my battery. doesnt last longer than 2 hours. Am downgrading to mojave.

I upgraded my 2017 MacBook Pro 13" to Catalina 10.15.2 and WHALAH!! I now have my battery power back to 10-12 hours. Under 10.15.1, it was 1-2 hours, so this is a huge improvement!

I'm too scared to update, the exact same happened with mojave, and i don't know if i should upgrade at all and just stick to high sierra

I have a MBP 15" 2018. Battery life was three days!!! Now less than a day... even when (smart) sleeping.

This is shameful behaviour by Apple.

I'm running 10.15.2 on a mid 2012 MB Pro with a 1TB Samsung SSD (860 EVO). Excessive battery drain during sleep is still a significant problem. So much so I'm considering returning to Mojave.

Chrome has nothing to do with it. I don’t use Chrome.. Pretty sure I don’t have it on this Air..

Thanks - darn I was hoping that would be the culprit. I think Apple cranking out 10.15.3 is a better solution :-).

Yeah. My tests went as far as a bare bones Catalina with nothing on it. Only Apple’s stuff by default was there and the issue happens.

I'm lucky to get 2 hours on my 2018 MBP after Catalina. Prior, averaged ~9 hours.
