I believe I read or heard that even though itunes is going away, the music files in your existing itines library are suppose to transfer over to apple music, is this true? & if so...

  • Will all of the music in my itunes library *weather purchased w/itunes, other sites, ripped from vinyl etc transfer to the new apple music platform

  1. iTunes is not going away in general. It was just replaced in macOS Catalina with 3 news apps. Only in macOS Catalina. Previous versions of macOS will continue to have iTunes and it will continue to work as it has.
  2. Its not a new platform. Just a new set of apps if you choose to update to macOS Catalina, and yes your iTunes Library will be accessible in the new Music App in Catalina if you choose to update.
  3. It should retain the playlists you have yes.
