How can I recycle my old MacBookPro without risk?
How & where can I recycle my old computer? Should I wipe or destroy the hard drive first? Or can I trust someone to do this for me?

If you want to be 100% sure, you can take out the hard drive/SSD and use a hammer on it before throwing it away. Unless you had your drive encrypted, the erase feature is not at anywhere near 100%, so some info may or may not be recoverable, especially on SSDs.
