My iPhone X updated itself a few days ago. Now when I’m texting or using the keyboard, initials keep appearing throughout my text, mostly CB, vm, FB. CB is constantly there. I have to edit my texts CB before sending. I left that last CB in as an example.
Help! How CB do I make it go away?

If you go to settings> keyboard and toggle the “slide to type” function to off, should fix it.
when pressing the space bar, if you accidentally slide onto a letter, auto correct tries to change the random letters to a recognisable initial or abbreviation.

I’ve been struggling with the ‘CB’ problem for over a year now and this is the only solution that I’ve come across that works! I followed your instructions and things are now back to normal. Thank you!!!
Same issue. Been ignoring it for months now but finally I have some time to look up what this weird CB thing is. What encouraged me is that I’ve seen it sent to me before so I realized it’s not only me. Just turned the slide to type off and so far in this comment it hasn’t happened. Thanks
You just have to go into settings and turn off the slide text thing. Sorry I’m super not techy. But I googled how to turn it off. I think it’s because we drag our fingers in certain spots. If you don’t want to learn how to drag your finger rather than ‘tap’ each letter, just turn it off. I agree these phones are over priced. But Apple has the best support and warranty. They’re all going to break, nothing lasts as long as it should. But at least Apple will just swap your device out at the store rather than mailing it away like the other guys.
Do this and it will stop! It’s totally cured my issue of it...

It is related to the “slide to type” feature. Turn that off and it won’t happen anymore. Problem is, I LIKE that feature...can’t use it unless I want CB randomly in my texts, though.
I agree with the comment above 👆🏽. It’s annoying that this happens, and Apple should definitely do something about this. But if you turn the slide text option off, it stops adding weird letters into your texts. It’d be great if everyone would try this because I keep getting emails every time someone posts and now I don’t know how to opt out of them 😅. First world problems 🤷🏻♀️
Same for me. It auto updated CB one night and now CB after I hit the CB space CB bar. I’m not deleting the “CB”s in this text. All the “CBs” not in quotations were auto added. FB and vm also appears CB for me as well. About to throw this phone out of the window. Your auto updates are trash. I do nothing but business on my phone and now I have cartoons always popping up and text doesn’t work. Why would a grown man need CB to text cartoons to anyone? Iphone has been downhill since Jobs CB left.

It happens when texting. When sending or replying to messages as you are typing a sentence CB will be inserted within a sentence. Actually as I was typing this FB was inserted before the word message.
I was DC on the phone last week with Apple support. For over an hour. They were able CB to get a CB live screenshot and they were going to give this problem to their Sr. Managers. I haven’t heard back at all, nor have I seen any improvement. I’m about to throw this CB out the window too.
I used to have the problem with CB appears but got that resolved. Now I am having a problem that when I hit space it puts in the same letter as my last letter used in place of a space. Not all the time but quite often. Anyone else have this problem or know the solution to it?
Mine phone has been doing it all the time too!! After I did an update to my phone. In mid sentence it’ll insert itself whenever. I’ve tried to see when it does or doesn’t. But there’s no similarity as to when.
It drives me crazy, because CB , VW and now more letters appear in my texts I paid a lot of monies for this IPhone 11 and Apple should be helpful with this problem But I guess the Stardom from Apple let them think” WHO CARES”

I have CB, CCM and a plethora of acronym like characters that appear at random, in a most unpredictable fashion. It is the most frustrating experience I have encountered. It announces itself in a most uninviting fashion. I have spent hours in cues at Apple Centres, waiting to see techs. That long, that the day, drawers to a close at 5pm, only to be told, we'll schedule you in for an appointment tomorrow. Mind you, I'm some 80kms from the nearest centre. I'm at my ends wit, with constantly having to amend each and every 2nd second sentence I type, sometimes up to three corrections are required. It's a nightmare to say the least. It not only happens in one field, but occurs in facebook, text messaging, ebay messaging and every other field which enables text. Not happy. I echo your annoyance at this most menacing imposition.
