CB appears everywhere when I text

If you go to settings> keyboard and toggle the “slide to type” function to off, should fix it.

when pressing the space bar, if you accidentally slide onto a letter, auto correct tries to change the random letters to a recognisable initial or abbreviation.

I’ve been struggling with the ‘CB’ problem for over a year now and this is the only solution that I’ve come across that works! I followed your instructions and things are now back to normal. Thank you!!!

I had the same problem and turned off the slide to type in keyboard settings and that fixed the problem.

If you go to settings> keyboard and toggle the “slide to type” function to off, that should fix it.

(Apple, this should be off by default if you can’t fix the issue)

Same issue. Been ignoring it for months now but finally I have some time to look up what this weird CB thing is. What encouraged me is that I’ve seen it sent to me before so I realized it’s not only me. Just turned the slide to type off and so far in this comment it hasn’t happened. Thanks

I had the same problem with”cb” for the last 6 months bought new 11 pro max updated still had cb come up all the time turned of slide to type and it seemed to stop I’m hopeful for now it drove me nuts!!!

You just have to go into settings and turn off the slide text thing. Sorry I’m super not techy. But I googled how to turn it off. I think it’s because we drag our fingers in certain spots. If you don’t want to learn how to drag your finger rather than ‘tap’ each letter, just turn it off. I agree these phones are over priced. But Apple has the best support and warranty. They’re all going to break, nothing lasts as long as it should. But at least Apple will just swap your device out at the store rather than mailing it away like the other guys.

Do this and it will stop! It’s totally cured my issue of it...

It is related to the “slide to type” feature. Turn that off and it won’t happen anymore. Problem is, I LIKE that feature...can’t use it unless I want CB randomly in my texts, though.

I agree with the comment above 👆🏽. It’s annoying that this happens, and Apple should definitely do something about this. But if you turn the slide text option off, it stops adding weird letters into your texts. It’d be great if everyone would try this because I keep getting emails every time someone posts and now I don’t know how to opt out of them 😅. First world problems 🤷🏻‍♀️

Dwayne, try turning slide to type off rather than auto correct.

Read the start of the thread, turn off your slide to type function. Has worked for all but one.

Same for me. It auto updated CB one night and now CB after I hit the CB space CB bar. I’m not deleting the “CB”s in this text. All the “CBs” not in quotations were auto added. FB and vm also appears CB for me as well. About to throw this phone out of the window. Your auto updates are trash. I do nothing but business on my phone and now I have cartoons always popping up and text doesn’t work. Why would a grown man need CB to text cartoons to anyone? Iphone has been downhill since Jobs CB left.
