Catalina Imac, computer logging out when screen is off

In trying to get music to import from a backup external hard drive. No problem while the screen is on but keeps logging out once screen is blanked.

I have set the screensaver/screen to a hot corner set the hard drives etc to not shut down and after a time it logs out and sleeps stopping the process. As there are many files this would mean days of just running with the screen on. Not something I wish to do.

Is this now a limit to what MacOs can do, it cannot run without the screen being on?

iMac 27", macOS 10.15

Go to Apple > System Preferences > Security & Privacy > select the General tab > unlock the panel and make sure that "Require password ______ after sleep or screen saver begins" is unchecked. Plus if desired, you can also completely "Disable automatic login" by unchecking the last box.

Then go to Apple > System Preferences > Energy Saver and make sure that "Computer Sleep" is set to "Never" and that "Put hard disks to sleep when possible" is unchecked.
