iPhone 11 Pro Max Syncing and Backup Issues

My iPhone 11 Pro Max will not sync using finder. The back up to this computer is grayed out and it just sits like it is syncing for hours and does nothing. I believe this is a phone issue since my iPad Pro has no syncing or back up issues using finder. Both have the most up to date software.

Connect your cable to your computer and open a new Finder window.

Your device will appear in the left most column. Click on that icon and follow the steps tp back it up.
