iTunes account on pc computer

Hi, hoping to retrieve an old iTunes account that I used on an old hp laptop. Is there a way to retrieve the music I purchased if I don't remember my password? This was before Apple ID, I think. I tried the email that I was using at the time (10 or 12 years ago now) and my name and nothing comes up. Any thoughts?
