I am wondering if other people ran into the same issue.
When you goto the "My Albums" overview in Photos the albums are not in sync with the sidebar.
If you remove an album from the sidebar it remains (empty) visible in the "My Albums".
Also, the order of the sidebar and the album overview are not in sync (alphabetical)
Ps. already filed this as feedback to Apple at FB7411795.

After emptying iOS / MacOS Photos, re-enabling iCloud synchronisation I came with the following result.
red: album has 85 photos, count and name don't match up
pink: album contains 12 photos, the album is not even visible
green: seems to be OK
