Can't give access to my gmail acc. on mail app

A warning sign shows up on the mail app on my macbook. When I click on it says "Google requires approval to be completed in Safari".

I click "Open Safari" in order to give approval, but it doesn't do anything or open safari. It just freezes.

Is there another way of giving approval? Or how do I fix this?

Hey there ce789,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. I understand you’re not able to authorize Gmail to work in Mail on your Mac. I’ll be happy to help with this.

If you haven’t already, update Safari on your Mac and see if this has any impact on the issue:

Update or reinstall Safari for your computer

Best wishes.

If for some reason, Safari browser is no longer up to date, an update there

may require a later macOS installation. ~ If you have another browser and

no longer use Safari by default, maybe you could work around that issue.

(My mac has older system, so I use Firefox and changed default from Safari.)

Good luck & happy trails!🌞🌤
