Call resulting in Request for Password

My wife and I both have IPhones. My wife's is brand new and mine is a year or so old. After setting up my wife's phone, we noticed this behavior: When she attempts to call my phone via the contacts by asking Siri to call me, her phone immediately thinks that she is calling herself and asks for a password followed by the pound sign. Now if she asks Siri to call my phone by enunciating the individual numerals of the number, it goes through without a problem.

I, on the other hand, have no problems calling her number either manually or via Siri and my Contacts.

What is this all about?

iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 13

Hey Marko98828,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! I understand you wife is running into issue when asking Siri to give you a call. I definitely want to make sure she's able to get ahold of you without issue, and I'm happy to help.

Are you and your wife sharing an Apple ID by chance? If so, this may be what's causing the confusion with Siri. If you're sharing an Apple ID across 2 different devices and use iCloud for your Contacts Siri may have a hard time locating the appropriate Contact information. Having separate Apple IDs and using Family Sharing to share content would be the best option here. You can see more about Family sharing here:

Family Sharing. Share your favorite things with your favorite people.

If you're not sharing an Apple ID, I suggest trying to delete the current contact and then re-add it and test if the same behavior continues.

Thanks again, and have a great day!
