iPad Pro stuck in app, won’t respond to gestures, won’t restart or shutdown.

Hi all, opened Hulu on my iPad this morning and went to swipe out of it and there was no response. Went through several attempts to close out of app but no gestures worked and my iPad is stuck in the app. Tried to restart/shut down but no swipe bar ever appears. Another notification came up for a separate app and I thought clicking it may work but it was unresponsive. Help.

Try a forced restart.

iPad models with Face ID: Press and quickly release the Volume Up button. Press and quickly release the Volume Down button. Then press and hold the Power button until the device restarts.
iPad with Home button, iPhone 6s or earlier, and iPod touch (6th generation) or earlier: Press and hold both the Home and the Top (or Side) buttons until you see the Apple logo.

You’re welcome. Sometimes it take a couple of attempts for it to work properly or to get the hang of doing it properly. I’m glad that you got it all sorted out.
