Having upgraded to MacOS Catalina (10.15) I get loads of web connection errors on both Chrome and Safari. I've checked the proxy settings and the firewall and nothing has changed, has anyone else seen the same issue and any guidance would be appreciated.

(System Preferences -> Security & Privacy -> Firewall) I was having tons of weird networking problems, like Safari bookmarks not syncing, websites not loading, DNS not resolving, and remote filesystems being very slow. Then I noticed in Console under Crash Reports that socketfilterfw kept crashing. When I turned off the Firewall, everything started working. The firewall had not changed since Mojave and still appeared to be configured correctly, but something seems to be wrong with it in Catalina for me.

The firewall was already off, but you prompted me to look into the Console to see if I could see anything. I can see about two messages per second rolling by a READ and then a WRITE EWS message. So it looks as though the MacBook is communication with Exchange and it looks the same on the old MacBook console.
I'm going to try a reboot of the new MacBook just to clear things out, but any clues on clearing caches via the SUDO command would be helpful as I can never remember those.

Well I rebooted my MacBook and still no change. The O365 calendar entries are being a little stubborn. If I turn on O365 in my Mail account, then the email floods in, so it's not the link to the Exchange server per se, although I grant that email isn't using EWS (I think).
So at a loss as if I compare the console on the old MacBook it looks the same as the new one.
The Firewall is on. In the end I cleared a number of caches using the terminal sudo commands and created a new location under the network settings. That seemed to fix the problem.
