Sidecar timeout Cataline 10.15 and iPadOS 13.1.3
Sidecar keeps on timing out (immediately). The Ipad name is visible on the Mac via the Airplay and the sidecar app within System Preferences. The Ipad name is also visible via Airplay on the Display System preferences. Clicking any of these options just gives me a timeout after about 2-3 seconds.
Logging: "/var/log/system.log" gives me the following error every time when I try and connect:
Oct 28 12:49:45 [PCname ommitted] xpcproxy[1159]: libcoreservices: _dirhelper_userdir: 557: bootstrap_look_up returned (ipc/send) invalid destination port
I followed this instruction to the tee https://support.apple.com/HT210380
- Wifi is on the same network on the iPad and the Mac
- Bluetooth is on, both on Mac and iPad
- Ipad latest version 13.1.3
- Mac latest version Catalina 10.15
- Mac Hardware = MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2018)
- Ipad hardware = Ipad Mini 5 (2019)
- Tried USBC->Lightning cable on all USB-C ports. Tried USB-Lightning cable via attached port replicator
- Rebooted both devices several times.
- Renamed iPad. New Name is picked up by Mac but still no success.
- Distance between devices is less than a meter
- No firewall or Antivirus is running (de-installed and disabled firewall for now)
- Disabling Bluetooth either on Mac and or iPad, regardless of using a direct cable, wifi or not, disables Sidecar (greyed out the Ipad name I'm using on the Mac)
Please can you help.
